Materials:

• A random collection of objects in a bag or box
• Can include office and school supplies, trash/ recyclable items

Setup: Leave all the items in a bag in the middle of the table or on the floor. Include a piece of paper and a pen

Instructions to Team: Sort the items in front of you into as many groupings (or sets) as you want to. Record your sorts on the paper and pen provided. You have 4 mins.

Notes: Have the team present their system of sorting at end of 4 mins. During the activity, watch how the team made decisions. Does the team talk over each other? You can redo this activity another time with another set of materials.
